Attn: drummers and musician pals, do you want to hear the clearest recording ever of what Keith Moon actually DID on drums within his sonic maelstrom in his absolute prime? Listen to "Tommy and The Bijoux" (Pete Townshend, Ronnie Lane, Duncan Browne and yes, Moon) backing closet rocker Mike Heron in 1971 whilst the latter was still in the considered by some twee International String Band. The resultant LP Smiling Men with Bad Reputations also roared with contributions by John Cale, Richard Thompson, Elton John and Steve Winwood, albeit quirkily.
