THE BLESSINGS, THE GLAM SKANKS et al for FOXES Magazine David Bowie event 12.30.16 at The Satellite

THE BLESSINGS ↑      ↓ GLAM SKANKS

The first item of business for 2017 in FASTFILMBLOG will be one the best, last shows of 2016, FOXES Magazine's David Bowie tribute show of all Bowie covers at the Satellite in Silverlake, Los Angeles, Calif. on Dec. 30, 2016.  Its top act, popular L.A. bluesy/Stonesy hard-rockers The Blessings delivered "Diamond Dogs" with groove-drenched authority amid extras like singer Jeremy White's harmonica-playing and singer Lavonne Seetal's cowbell percussion in its essential role for that tune.

Another top act, Glam Skanks provided utter glitter thrills as skanks on the run for FOXES. Proceeds from this show went to Queen guitarist/science scholar Brian May's Save Me Trust animal foundation and to FOXES magazine costs. Tina De La Celle of FOXES compiled this themed benefit.

Interesting stage lighting which made some of my shots appear as if I had de-saturated them post-production in Lightroom, which I did not!

Glam Skanks in action! "Hang On To Yourself" and "Starman" never had it so good...

Above, Jeffertitti Moon on "Soul Love."

Two of the other genuine star acts, below, amidst the high-key Jacques Brel lighting, singer Gabrielle Wortman and Smoke Season tackled "Rock And Roll Suicide" with appropriate swagger...
Sweet-faced bad girl guitarist/singer Frankie Clarke of Frankie and The Studs on "Rebel Rebel." Homegrown L.A. Rock cred is firmly in place for Frankie-- she is Guns N' Roses' guitarist/Whisky A Gogo Ultimate Jam star Gilby Clarke's daughter.

Other featured/listed acts were The Schizophonics, Jeff Fribourg, Modeste Cobian, Veronica Bianqui, Laena Geronimo, and The Blank Tapes.

Bowie-faced reveler in the packed crowd.
